About Me

My name is Panagiotis (Panos) Promponas and I am from Naxos, a beautiful Greek island. I am a third year Ph.D. student at Yale’s Electrical Engineering department, where I recently received my M.Sc.. I am also a research assistant at Yale Institute for Network Science (YINS). I am broadly interested in the optimization and modeling of networking systems. My advisor is Prof. Leandros Tassiulas. We are currently working on (i) the development of scheduling and routing policies for Quantum Networks and Wireless Directional Networks, and (ii) resource allocation and modeling for Distributed Quantum Computing.

Prior to Yale, I did my undergraduate studies at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece, where I got a 5-year diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with specializations in Networks, Computer Science and Mathematics. My diploma thesis was centered around Game Theoretic approaches for the uplink power control problem in wireless networks and my advisor was Prof. Symeon Papavassiliou. After that, I worked for a year as a Research Assistant in the Network Management and Optimal Design Laboratory at NTUA where we studied network resource allocation problems under the paradigm of Games in Satisfaction Form.
